This 13.1 mile course begins just off the square in Viola and finishes on the square beside the town park. This course will take runners through 3 Middle Tennessee counties Warren, Grundy and Coffee. Beautiful scenery awaits runners as you traverse along the valley floor beneath the southwestern escarpment of the Cumberland Plateau in Grundy County.
Runners will exit Grundy County between mile markers 4 and 5 and enter Coffee County. Participants will run down a short section of Highway 127 then turning onto Ragsdale Road. Runners will enter a section of S-curves located in the small community of Sainville. At this point runners will be a few short miles from the annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival held in June. Runners will re-enter Warren County just past mile marker 10.
The Viola course will take runners by a number of large farms that are prevalent throughout the area. Corn, Soybeans and Wheat are common items grown as well as a number of nurseries along with cattle and horse farms.
The course itself is typical of Tennessee topography for this area, which means areas of long flat stretches followed by a number of rolling hills. The hills that runners will encounter are small and rolling not long and steep.
